All three of these photos were taken using the Birdland
quarter-plate camera and were exhibited at various places
including the Royal Photographic Society.
The photo of the Carrion Crow was taken at Enfield in 1904.
The photo of the Red Kite was taken in an aviary at Knighton
in Wales and a new background was substituted by Pike himself.
It was an original Welsh Kite,
of which only five remained in 1907 when the photo was taken.
